Falmouth Commodores Volunteer Intern Program Information
~ Positions all filled for Summer 2017 ~
General Manager Interns
Keith is from West Barnstable, MA, and is majoring in Sport Management at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. He strongly believes that everything happens for a reason and with that mindset has turned a physical condition that sidelined him from playing contact sports into an opportunity to pursue an education and a potential career in athletics. As a golf enthusiast, when he is not working, he will likely be on a Cape Cod golf course.
Harrison will be spending his second summer with the Commodores as GM Intern. He is from Lexington, Massachusetts and will be a rising junior at Elon University in North Carolina, where he is studying Sport & Event Management as well as Business. Harrison is also involved with Elon’s Club Baseball team and is starting up his own club, Sports Analytics. Harrison cannot wait for the Dores’ season to get underway.
Mike Murray will be entering his sophomore year at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood MA. He is from West Roxbury MA and spends his summers in Falmouth. This is his fifth year with the Commodores, the last four as a batboy. He has attended the Commodores baseball clinics and had a great experience with the players and coaches. He enjoys playing hockey, baseball, ultimate frisbee and refereeing hockey.
Ryan is a rising junior at Villanova University where he is pursuing a double major in Criminology and Political Science. He has been an avid sports fan since he was a kid, and attended numerous Commodores games as a child when visiting his grandparents. At school Ryan is a member of the pep band and helped bring home a national championship last year. Ryan has worked with Villanova’s lacrosse teams as their photographer, and is excited to work with a local team and a new sport. He is eager to capture memorable moments throughout the Commodores’ season.
Anna is a lifelong resident of Falmouth, having graduated from Falmouth High School in 2014. She is a rising senior at Bridgewater State University majoring in Strategic Communications and minoring in Psychology. Anna grew up watching the Commodores and is very excited to intern as the Videographer this summer. Her winter passion is snowboarding, but she trades in her snowboard for hiking shoes when the warm weather rolls around.
On Field Reporter
Mariah is from Weston, MA. She is a recent graduate of Syracuse University where she studied writing, public communications, and sport management. Mariah hopes to pursue a career in sports broadcasting so she is extremely excited to be a field reporter for the Commodores this summer as it will help immensely in her future endeavors. Mariah has visited to the Cape with her family every summer since she was a little girl and is thrilled to be back again covering her favorite sport.
Blake is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State. He returns to the Commodores as the team’s Play-By-Play broadcaster, having served as the field reporter last summer. Blake is formerly the voice of Arizona State baseball and softball for the Pac-12 Network and Blaze Radio, serving as the Sports Director for two years. Blake has also reported for NPR, AZ PBS and is a freelance photographer.
A native of Seattle Washington, Josh will be a rising junior at Indiana University, majoring in Journalism with a Political Science minor. He does play-by-play for Indiana baseball, football and men’s basketball games along with hosting a weekly sports talk show on WIUX, the campus radio station. Josh also writes for the Indiana Daily student newspaper and is the beat reporter for IU men’s soccer and women’s basketball. Previously Josh held an internship for 710 ESPN Seattle as an assistant producer for the ‘Danny, Dave and Moore’ show.
Brandon is excited to be joining the Commodores for his third season. He spent his last two summers as the P.A. Announcer at Guv Field, and this summer will be a part of the play-by-play team. An upcoming senior at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Brandon is an acting major with a minor in journalism where he writes for The Torch, a student-led newspaper on campus. Go ‘Dores!
Cooper is currently a graduate student at Central Connecticut State University pursuing his Master’s degree in Communications. He graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University (2016) with a B.A. in Communications and Sports Management and now lives in Andover, Connecticut. Cooper played college soccer and was a Division III All-American in 2015. He currently works at CCSU in sports information as a broadcaster. In his free time, Cooper enjoys playing sports and hanging out with his family and friends.
AJ is from Hingham, MA and recently graduated from Curry College in Milton, MA while studying Communication and English. He has written for the Hingham Harborlight, Hingham Journal, and Currier Times newspapers. In 2010 he created his own Boston Sports Blog called Wicked Pissah Weekly, which he continues to run today. AJ played baseball through high school and still loves the game to this day! Falmouth has always been his favorite town on the Cape since he vacationed there often during the summers growing up!
Nick is a rising junior at Bentley University where he is majoring in Mathematical Sciences. He is a Falmouth native, graduating from Falmouth High School in 2015. Nick is passionate for the game of baseball, having played for FHS, as well as the American Legion baseball Orleans Post 308. During the school year, he enjoys volunteering at the Watertown Boys & Girls Club and playing intramural basketball.
Conner is entering his 4th season as an intern for the Commodores and his 2nd season as a Scouting Intern. He lives in Falmouth and is a rising freshman at Lasell College, majoring in Sports Management. Conner has had a life-long passion for the game of baseball and although he has a physical disability that limits his ability to play sports, he has been able to contribute to the game as an assistant coach for both his high school’s basketball and baseball teams.
Special Projects Intern
Sydney lives in Falmouth and is a recent graduate of Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She will be attending Tufts University this fall, majoring in Biology on a pre-med track. While she has spent the last couple summers dedicating herself to medical internships and community service, she appreciates the opportunity to be a Special Projects Intern at the Commodores, which incorporates her organizational and creative skills in interesting ways. Sydney is a triplet and is joining her brother Conner as a member of the Commodore family.
Liesel is extremely excited for her second summer with the Commodores. She lives in Newtown Square, PA and has been coming to Falmouth every summer. Liesel is a rising Junior at Bucknell University, majoring in Political Science. She is a member of the squash team on campus. When Liesel is not at Guv Fuller Field during the summer, she is teaching kids how to sail in Woods Hole.
Scott is currently pursuing his Master’s in Sport Management at the University of San Francisco with the goal of becoming an Intercollegiate Athletic Director. He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Scott graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Commerce from Hampden Sydney College. In addition to his work in financial services, Scott is a sports fanatic and enjoys playing squash, tennis, golf and lacrosse. Scott is married and has a 1-year-old daughter.
Head Field Intern
Bobby is very excited to be returning this summer as lead field intern. He is an Acton, MA native and has spent many childhood summers in Falmouth watching the Commodores. He is a rising junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign pursuing a degree in economics, with minors in business and statistics. On campus, Bobby works for the Athletics Department at the Illinois Ticket office and the Illinois Football Video Team, and is also the social media chair of the University of Illinois Sports Business Association. When he is not studying or working, you can find him reading a book on the beach or fishing with his friends.
Aaron is a rising Junior at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia, majoring in Sport and Entertainment Management, with a minor in Advertising. He graduated from Franklin High School in 2015. His family regularly vacationed on the Cape throughout his childhood, where he always enjoyed going to Cape Cod League games with his friends. In Aaron’s free time, he enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family and friends. Aaron is looking forward to his first year with the team and is excited for the summer!
Alexa is a rising junior at Clemson University majoring in Human Resource Management with a minor in Information Systems. Alexa has lived in Falmouth her entire life, graduating from Falmouth High School in 2015. Growing up in Falmouth, she spent many summers watching the Commodores play. In her free time, Alexa enjoys many outside activities including skiing, hiking, and running. She is very excited to be a part of the Commodore’s organization and is looking forward to her first year as an intern.
Allen lives in Northborough, MA and is currently studying sport management with a minor in exercise science at Endicott College. Allen is very excited to join the Falmouth internship team this year as a field intern. He anxious to meet everyone involved with the Commodores organization including players, family, friends, and fans. When not hard at work for the team you can find Allen enjoying the weather at the beach.
Destini Dulin grew up in Nixa, Missouri. She played Division II volleyball for two years at William Jewell College in Kansas City before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. While attending OU, Destini worked as a recruiting assistant for OU football, coached volleyball and became the director for the Oklahoma Elite volleyball club. She graduated in the fall of 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Communication and a minor in Spanish.
Isabelle is a rising junior at Clemson University where she is studying Marketing with a minor in Communications. She attended Bishop Feehan High School and graduated in 2015. At Clemson she is a part of the club softball team. She is from Norton, MA, but a summer resident of Cotuit. Isabelle’s grandfather, father, two uncles, and cousin have all played in the Cape Cod League, so she’s excited to be a part of it too!
Jack Travers is a rising junior at the University of New Hampshire majoring in Sport Studies with a Business Administration minor. He lives in Medway, MA and graduated from Medway High School in 2015. Jack currently works as an Event Management staff member in the Athletics Department at UNH. His family vacations on the Cape for one week every summer and always attends a Cape Cod League baseball game. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with friends.
Justin Powell is a rising junior at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is studying Sports Management and Business. He graduated from Holliston High School 2015. At Xavier, Justin is heavily involved with their Athletic Department, helping out with their Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as Women’s Volleyball teams. On weekends, Justin enjoys volunteering with the Cincinnati Reds in their Urban Youth Academy. Justin is looking forward to his first season working with the Commodores team!
