Press Box Renovation

Press Box Relocation, Expansion and Renovations At Guv Fuller Field

~ More Than a Renovation – A Community Project ~

Opening Day of the 2017 season will include the unveiling of the latest renovation of the Eric Palmer press box. This exciting and much anticipated project includes the moving of the building away from the backstop, shed expansion off the back and 2nd story deck. The major league scouts will have more room to operate and the expansion will create greater storage for Falmouth High School baseball and the Commodores

What started out as a dedication to one of the Falmouth Commodores’ recently deceased and beloved board member, Pat Loftus, has transformed into a true Community project. Since the dedication of Pat’s Loft last July, Pat’s family, friends and colleagues, including members of the Menauhant Yacht Club, have raised more than $22,000 in donations for this project. This initial donation raised hopes of expanding off the back of the building, but the project cost would increase substantially. However, numerous businesses and individuals in the community have donated labor and materials to significantly reduce overall project costs. To date, the show of these donations total over $39,000. This partnering, along with the Pat Loftus funds, led to the pursuit of a grant from the Falmouth Road Race (FRR), Inc. who generously approved $30,000 to cover the shed expansion that has allowed the scale of this endeavor to become a reality. This Press Box Project under the direction of Board member Dave Johnson and team President Mark Kasprzyk is considered part of a multi-phase plan to improve the facilities at Guv Fuller field. Other plans include a new backstop and dugouts, safety netting, expanded stands and an improved sound system and are the subject of future fundraising. Please join us on July 10, 2017 at Guv Fuller field for Renovation Recognition Night where all who have been involved with this amazing project will be acknowledged and thanked. The Commodores are grateful to everyone for their generosity and support. We could not have done it without you!
